Man arrested for several gun theft counts in Monroe County
SUMMARY: Alvis Eugene West was arrested in Monroe County, Mississippi, for allegedly stealing firearms from a business in Hamilton, with charges including possession of stolen firearms and using a child to assist in the theft. The incidents occurred over two days, during which West reportedly had a child carry a firearm out of the store. Eight Days of Hope extends help to hurricane victims in Florida
SUMMARY: Volunteers from Eight Days of Hope in Tupelo are assisting in Georgia, providing meals to emergency workers, volunteers, and residents affected by Hurricane Helene. The team will operate in the Valdosta area from October 2 to October 14. Volunteers aged 16 and older are welcome to join the initiative. Hinds County coroner announces retirement after 25 years of service
