Yazoo County deputies seize alcohol bottles, marijuana at correctional facility

SUMMARY: Yazoo County deputies seized contraband inside the fence of Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility on Saturday, July 13, around 1:00 a.m. After investigating two suspects near the outer perimeter, deputies found 14 Sprite bottles, seven Coca-Cola bottles, and four packages of marijuana within the fence. The bottles contained alcohol. Despite a search, the two suspects were not found. No arrests had been made by Monday, July 15.

Shuqualak man missing in Noxubee Co.

SUMMARY: The Noxubee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to locate Davenport Hill, a 45-year-old man from Shuqualak, who was reported missing on October 28 at around 10:30 a.m. He was last seen on Running Road and is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 290 pounds. Hill is believed to be driving a beige 2024 GMC Canyon with Mississippi license plate 7D34D. His has expressed concern as he suffers from a medical that may impair his judgment. A Silver Alert has been issued for his disappearance.
