Yazoo County deputies arrest 1 man, searching for 2 others after contraband bust
SUMMARY: Authorities arrested one man and are searching for two others after an attempt to smuggle contraband into a Yazoo County jail. Deputies were tipped off and conducted a surveillance operation. Three Hispanic males exited a hotel, two carrying bags, and got into a white Honda. When deputies tried to stop the vehicle, it fled and crashed. The driver was arrested, but the other two suspects escaped on foot. A bag was recovered near the car. SUMMARY: A manhunt in Harrison County concluded with the arrest of Bricen John Rivers, charged with one count of murder. Deputies responded to Wolf River Cemetery, where they found Rivers running into the woods. A deceased woman, 22-year-old Lauren Johansen of Gulfport, was found in the vehicle Rivers fled from. Johansen, reported missing July 2, attended school in Hattiesburg. Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the search, ultimately locating Rivers and arresting him. He is held at Harrison County Adult Detention Facility on a $1 million bond.
