Woman wanted in kidnapping of SC mom, child caught at Tunica casino

SUMMARY: Amy Perez, 45, of Union County, North Carolina, was arrested at a Tunica Casino, Mississippi, in connection to the kidnapping of a mother and her 8-year-old son in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Perez faces charges including attempted murder, kidnapping, impersonating a law enforcement officer, intimidation of court officials, burglary, and possessing a weapon during a violent crime. The victims were forcefully taken from their home but were later found with the mother injured and the son unharmed. Two others have already been charged, and more arrests are anticipated. Perez was located after a tip was received.
