Woman shot, then ran over, acquaintance before being killed by OCPD officers
SUMMARY: A recent investigation revealed that a woman shot and killed by police was involved in a prior shooting incident. Last week, she shot another woman twice and then ran her over after the victim attempted to escape. The altercation escalated when police responded to the scene, and the suspect emerged with a gun, firing into the ground. Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation using ballistics shields, she pointed her weapon at the officers, prompting seven of them to return fire, fatally shooting her. The suspect was 77 years old; the condition of the other victim remains unknown.

Car fire spreads to home in Moore
SUMMARY: A car fire in Moore early Tuesday morning spread to a nearby home, prompting urgent action from neighbors. Gary Trueblood discovered the burning vehicle while checking on a beeping sound. He and another neighbor rushed to alert the occupants of the home, banging on doors and kicking them until the family awoke and escaped safely. Although the truck was totaled and flames reached the garage and attic, no injuries were reported. Witnesses noted hearing explosions, likely from burning tires, as investigators work to determine the fire’s cause. Trueblood emphasized the importance of neighborly support.

Frustration nears boiling point over pipeline construction
SUMMARY: Local property owners are fighting against Phillips 66, which plans to build a crude oil pipeline through their land using eminent domain. Longtime farmer Don Crow describes the damage to his property, worsened by recent rainfall, which has transformed usable land into a muddy mess. Crow and neighbors, affected despite not having their land taken, are in district court contesting the project, which they argue is poorly managed. Phillips 66 claims the project serves a public good and that homeowners rejected fair compensation. Legal resolutions are anticipated to drag on into the following year, potentially increasing damage.
