Winter storm impacts businesses across Northeast Mississippi
SUMMARY: A snow and ice storm in Tupelo, Mississippi has led to icy roads, making travel slow. Businesses are working to clear ice for customers, but many are closing early due to slow business. Traffic is light, with most businesses and schools closed. Children are enjoying a surprise snow day, while parents are less enthusiastic. The temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing for another day, leading to more business and school closures. The use of salt on the roads is currently ineffective due to low temperatures, but will be applied as soon as temperatures rise.
