SUMMARY: Iran has launched a missile barrage against Israel, which was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, as captured in dramatic video footage. The strike came after U.S. warnings about an imminent Iranian ballistic missile attack, reportedly in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged national unity as the Israeli military initiates ground operations in Lebanon. He conveyed a message of resilience to Israelis in light of the challenging days ahead. The White House has expressed concerns that Iran is poised to escalate its military actions against Israel.
Iran launched a barrage of missiles into Israel on Tuesday. Dramatic video captured Israel’s air defense system intercepting some of the missiles, followed by loud explosions. This comes shortly after the US warned Israel about the attack.

Op-Ed: ACIP must give doctors and patients choice and access | Opinion
SUMMARY: The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends vaccine usage to enhance public health. At its upcoming October meeting, ACIP may lower the routine pneumococcal vaccination age from 65 to 50, which would increase awareness, access, and vaccination rates, ultimately saving lives. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, trust in health policies diminished, but endorsing this recommendation could restore goodwill with the public. It’s crucial for ACIP to maintain transparency in its recommendations, leaving vaccination choices to individual physicians instead of imposing blanket decisions. RealClearHealth supports ACIP’s proposal, viewing it as beneficial for patient choice and access to medicine for adults 50 and older.

Why the air quality around the Conyers chemical plume is worse overnight than during the day
SUMMARY: Concerns are rising about a pollution plume in Ragale County, particularly regarding its impact on local air quality. During daytime, conditions allow for better dispersion of pollutants due to higher temperatures and stronger winds. In contrast, nighttime brings a lower atmospheric boundary layer, trapping pollutants close to the ground, leading to worse air quality. This phenomenon explains the recent mornings’ fog and low visibility. As nighttime approaches, winds will calm, again exacerbating pollution problems. Tomorrow, a shift to northerly winds may alter the plume’s direction, but air quality issues will persist until a chemical offloading process is complete.
Officials have said once they remove and store the chemicals, the plume should dissipate.
