Who’s performing at the 2023 Mississippi State Fair?
SUMMARY: The Mississippi State Fair has announced its lineup of musical and entertainment acts for its upcoming 164th fair. The fair, which will take place from October 5-15, 2023, will feature performances by Grammy-nominated country artist Josh Turner, R&B vocalist Cupid, up-and-coming country star ERNEST, Motown and R&B group The Commodores, and Christian solo artist Jeremy Camp. The fair will also host a talent competition with the opportunity for winners to audition for American Idol. SUMMARY: Von’s Soul Food Catering in Columbus, Mississippi, provides over 400 meals to those in need at Loaves and Fishes every third Tuesday. Since 2018, owner Lavonne Harris has prepared full-course meals for the homeless and hungry. On November 19, a Thanksgiving-themed meal was served, including dressing, vegetables, and dessert. The meals are a special way to support people before the holiday. Volunteers from the community and local businesses assist in serving the meals. Harris also encourages more volunteers and churches to help, as there are days when additional support is needed to serve meals.
