Who is the Home Team Hype Award winner?

SUMMARY: In a special season finale of the Home Team Friday night show, the best student section award in Central Kentucky was announced. Woodford County High School won the Home Team Hype Award, showcasing exceptional energy, attendance, and enthusiasm throughout the season. The presentation included a large banner created by the creative services team, to be displayed in their upcoming new gym. There will be a pep rally to celebrate the award. The hosts encouraged other schools to compete for future awards by demonstrating their spirit, especially as basketball season approaches. Woodford County’s student section stood out as the best.

Woodford County brought the hype for our camera, even throwing a fellow student up in the air, and earned the first-ever Home Team Hype Award banner.

Thawing out from the deep freeze this weekend

Kentucky unemployment rises even as state adds more jobs | Kentucky

SUMMARY: Kentucky’s unemployment rate rose to 5.2% in December 2024, a slight increase from November, despite more residents finding jobs. The labor force expanded by over 5,000 individuals, with 1,973 jobs added, totaling 1,976,436 employed. However, the number of unemployed grew by 3,065 to 108,623. Kentucky’s workforce participation rate rose to 58.2%, though it remains lower than neighboring states. Over the past year, jobs, excluding self-employed and agricultural workers, increased by 28,700 or 1.4%. Notably, construction jobs rose by 4.8%, and the educational and health services sector added 16,500 jobs year-over-year, despite some recent losses.
