SUMMARY: Meteorologist Chris Michaels discusses the upcoming winter forecast, addressing the frequent question about snowfall. North Carolina is experiencing its third-longest snowless streak, last recorded in January 2012. Key factors influencing the forecast include the El Niño phenomenon, hurricane energy, and Siberian snow cover, which affects cold air in the Eastern U.S. Notably, the average snowfall has decreased from 7 inches over the past 75 years to 2-4 inches in recent years, attributed to warming winters. NOAA will release its winter outlook tomorrow at 11 a.m., which will be available on wal.com.

The WRAL Weather team is doing research in preparation of its winter outlook that will come out in early November.

Despite challenges from COVID-related delays, justice is being served more efficiently.
