SUMMARY: Good morning, South Mississippi! The weather is clear but cloudier than yesterday, with lingering snow melting as temperatures rise above freezing. Current temperatures are in the teens, and some areas report frost on windshields. Expect highs in the mid-40s, aiding the melting process, but shaded spots may still have ice. Brutal cold and travel issues remain Wednesday morning
SUMMARY: Despite clear skies and a beautiful sunrise in Gulfport, Mississippi, the cold temperatures remain dangerously low, with some areas experiencing single-digit temperatures. Parker Boyd reports from Jones Park, where the snow-covered landscape gives off a holiday vibe reminiscent of Christmas. While the snow is picturesque, it poses a serious risk due to icy conditions on the roads. Locals, unaccustomed to such weather, are urged to take extra caution when venturing out. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is working to clear the roads, but travel may still be challenging across the region.
Snow-packed roads across South Mississippi will be icy and dangerous Wednesday.
