SUMMARY: Tonight offers a rare celestial event featuring a partial lunar eclipse coinciding with the full Harvest Moon, which is also a super moon, making it appear larger and brighter than usual. Around 10:44 PM, Earth’s shadow will cast a reddish hue on the moon. The Harvest Moon is named for its brightness, which historically allowed farmers to work late during harvest season. This extraordinary event won’t be repeated until 2025, prompting experts to encourage sky gazers to head outside after dark for the best view of the super moon and eclipse, especially after midnight. Cloudy skies may hinder visibility.

Atlanta, we’re in for a rare treat. Not only will there be a supermoon, when the moon appears larger and bright than usual, but there will also be a partial lunar eclipse. Here’s when you should go outside for the best view.

SUMMARY: As the holiday season approaches, health experts urge caution to prevent germ transmission during gatherings. Dr. Hetal Thakore advises that individuals with respiratory issues should avoid close contact with others. Host activities should include routine sanitization of surfaces, as the holidays increase the risk of flu and other viruses. While many illnesses stem from the common cold, Dr. Thakore notes that flu vaccines vary in effectiveness due to viral mutations.
