What is a “no-knock” police warrant?
SUMMARY: In January 2019, a deadly raid on Harding Street led to significant changes in the Houston Police Department’s (HPD) policy regarding no-knock warrants, which allowed officers to enter homes unannounced. Following the incident, the HPD mandated that only the Chief could authorize such warrants, reacting to allegations that former officer Gerald Gos created a false warrant to unjustly enter a residence. This controversial case raises critical questions that will be explored during Gos’s upcoming murder trial, including the legitimacy of the warrant and the individuals who will attend the courtroom proceedings.
Five years after the deadly Houston police raid on Harding Street, a former narcotics officer will go on trial for the murder of Rhogena Nicholas and Dennis Tuttle. So what happened in 2019 to make Gerald Goines the focus in this historic case?

Cruz: Hate ‘manifesting right here’ during hearing on campus antisemitism | National
SUMMARY: During a Senate Judiciary hearing on hate crimes, Sen. Ted Cruz criticized pro-Hamas rioters and Democrats for the rise of antisemitism in the U.S., citing increased threats against Jewish students on college campuses. The hearing was disrupted by protestors, leading Cruz to label their actions as antisemitism. Cruz noted that antisemitic incidents have surged since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, particularly in universities. He emphasized that while other forms of hate are swiftly condemned, antisemitism is often overlooked. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reinforced the need for educational institutions to combat antisemitism and enacted measures to address this issue.
