Severe weather event impacts Friday and Saturday

Today, a low-pressure system will bring 1 to 2 inches of rain, with potential strong storms in counties south and east, while the metro area likely remains dry around noon. Tomorrow brings another round of severe weather, particularly north of Interstate 20, with tornado and damaging wind threats possible, alongside flash flooding and hail. The weekend’s first part will be wet, but it will dry out by New Year’s Eve. Expect a significant temperature drop as the new year begins.
