Lee County mobile home regulations on pause
SUMMARY: In Lee County, residents are divided over a proposed regulation on mobile homes, which has not yet been voted on. Some believe it will enhance property values, while others argue it will hinder homeownership. The regulation stems from concerns about sewage management and includes a requirement for a two-acre lot for mobile homes, although it does not apply in land-perk areas. Critics, including Lee County Board of Supervisors President Wesley Webb, argue that the costs associated with meeting these new requirements could make homeownership unattainable. A meeting is scheduled to discuss the regulation further.
The board of supervisors are pausing the enforcement of new mobile home regulations. A public meeting is scheduled to hear from the public.
