SUMMARY: Gray Collegiate Academy in West Columbia will open a new satellite campus on Koon Road in Irmo this August, temporarily housing three modulars with 24 classrooms for 6th to 10th graders, accommodating approximately 650 students. With snowfall comes danger for drivers as the leftover snow and ice melt and refreeze on the roadways.

Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes said you should be cautious about what’s underneath the blanket of snow.

“Everything that melts today, the temperatures are going to stay below freezing which means the roads are going to be slick,” Sheriff Hughes said.
