SUMMARY: The Alabama Senate has passed a bill banning Glock switches, which are gun conversion devices. The bill, now heading to Governor Kay Ivey’s desk, aims to reduce gun violence and protect communities. Law enforcement and parents support the ban, emphasizing the need to curb violence from automatic and semi-automatic weapons. The bill would prosecute possession of these devices as a Class C felony. The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police backs the ban, citing a rise in violent crime linked to Glock switches.
