Webster County Sheriff’s Department taking time to train with new tool

SUMMARY: Webster County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri recently underwent training with MSU RASPit Flight Research Laboratory pilots. The training focused on UAS flight operations and data analytics. The department aims to incorporate drones into their operations to enhance emergency response capabilities. Webster County Undersheriff Tim Roberson highlights the importance of understanding the capabilities and limitations of drones in order to make informed decisions. The MSU RASPit Flight Research Laboratory is the only institution in the world that serves as both the FAA’s UAS safety research facility and an official UAS test site.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Department is taking the time to train with a new tool that could one day benefit their agency. Deputies spent two days training with MSU Raspet Flight Research Laboratory pilots in UAS Flight Operations and Data Analytics class.
