SUMMARY: Labor Day weekend in East Tennessee is approaching, with great weather expected, especially on Monday. While rain chances exist on Saturday and Sunday, temperatures and sunshine will improve. However, TVA reports lower water levels, about 6 inches below average and 10 inches below last year due to dry spells despite some rainfall in August. Stream flow levels are also dropping in various rivers. To counter this, dam releases are planned from Tuesday to Thursday and on Saturday to restore levels. As we transition toward fall, water levels and activities on the lake may be impacted. For weather questions, text 865-637-7110.

According to the Tennessee Valley Authority, water levels are lower than what is hoped.
