Municipal election day is looming
SUMMARY: Municipal elections are approaching in Lafayette County, with a special election tomorrow for a state house seat in District 23. This seat was vacated by Representative Andy Step of Bruce. Four local circuit clerks are preparing for voting. The main election will occur on April 1, including party primaries for Tupelo mayor and Democratic primaries for Columbus and Starkville mayors. At least 20 communities will have primaries. On April 15, Winston County voters will choose a new state senator to fill District 18 after Senator Jennifer Branding’s election to the Mississippi Supreme Court. Runoff elections will occur on April 22.

Primary election day is April 1 for many cities and towns across Mississippi.
