Water main break that caused disruptions in south east Atlanta is fixed
SUMMARY: The Atlanta Watershed has announced that crews have repaired a water main break caused by a private contractor at the intersection of Myy Avenue and Jonesboro Road. The incident, which occurred yesterday, affected numerous homes and disrupted operations at four schools. The damaged 24-inch water line should no longer pose issues. Residents may experience air in the line or discolored water post-repair, which is normal. To remedy this, they are advised to run cold water at each faucet, starting from the lowest levels of their homes and moving upwards, until the water is clear.

Economic uncertainty could benefit Atlanta's housing market | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: Economic uncertainty is impacting Atlanta’s housing market, with nearly two-thirds of sellers offering concessions to buyers in 2025, according to a Redfin report. High housing costs and increased supply contribute to this trend, positioning Atlanta behind only Seattle and Portland in seller concessions. These concessions may include assistance with repairs, closing costs, or mortgage rate buy-downs. Realtor David Johnson notes that the market is becoming more balanced, contrasting with the seller-favored conditions during the pandemic. Current mortgage rates average 6.8%, leading some buyers to pause their searches amidst the economic climate.

According to Redfin, more than 61% of Atlanta sellers are offering concessions to buyers. Redfin characterizes concessions as something the seller provides to bring down the buyer’s total cost — like money toward repairs, closing costs or mortgage rate buydowns.
