SUMMARY: Fox 35 Storm Team meteorologist is tracking a potential hurricane developing next week in the Gulf of Mexico. Currently, there are three areas of interest, with the Caribbean area having a 40% chance of tropical development. While models are uncertain, favorable conditions for storm formation include warm waters and light wind shear. Two scenarios are possible: a cold front could steer the system toward Florida, or a high-pressure ridge might push it westward towards Texas or Louisiana. Historical patterns suggest Florida is more likely to be affected. Updates will continue as the situation develops.

The odds of a tropical disturbance developing in the northwestern Caribbean Sea and southeastern Gulf of Mexico have increased, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Miami real estate broker George Pino expected to turn himself in for deadly boating accident
