Arkansas football coach helps fellow coach during medical emergency
SUMMARY: During a hot game, a coach collapsed unexpectedly, prompting quick action from Coach Clancy and others who were trained to handle heat exhaustion. Thanks to the Arkansas Activities Association’s training, which educates coaches on heat illness every three years, they quickly removed the coach from the field, prepared an ice bath, and had an AED on standby. Paramedics arrived, and the coach made a full recovery, even returning by the game’s end. Clancy expressed relief and pride in the training’s effectiveness, reinforcing the importance of preparedness for such critical situations in sports.
One Bryant football coach put his training to the test when he quickly jumped into action to help another coach who was having a medical emergency on the field.
