Warrant issued for man accused of illegal dumping
SUMMARY: After exhausting all avenues to make contact with the next of kin, the Jackson Police Department’s new illegal dumping unit has issued an arrest warrant for 57-year-old Larry Jones. He is accused of illegally dumping tires on private property near Beatty Street and Guise Street downtown. Police were able to identify Jones through security footage, which showed him dumping hundreds of pounds of tires on the property and then driving away. The JPD’s efforts to crack down on illegal dumping are evident in their swift action against Jones.

Longtime Lowndes County supervisor enters mayoral race
