SUMMARY: Today is significant for our household as a beekeeper arrived to manage the bees in our garage. He initiated the process by smoking the bees, mimicking a forest fire, which prompts them to consume honey and prepare for relocation. The bees possess a “honey stomach” capable of holding food for three days, allowing for a smoother transfer with reduced stress. The beekeeper is assessing honeycomb while ensuring minimal disruption to the bees’ habitat. They’ve managed to remove parts of honeycomb while preserving the brood area. He explains how bees are attracted to light, similar to moths, and discusses the hive’s structure.
