Democratic candidate Brandon Presley called out incumbent Tate Reeves for not showing up to events, while Reeves' advisor defended his absence citing other important commitments. The race between Reeves and Presley remains closely followed, with no scheduled debates yet. The deadline to register is 30 days before the election.

Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal Police that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital. The Forest County Coroner identified the deceased, and no arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
