Volunteers clean up Biloxi Cemetery ahead of guided tours
SUMMARY: Next week, the annual Buuy Cemetery tours will bring local history to life, as volunteers prepare the site by cleaning headstones and raking leaves. Keyler Airman Robert Waltz discovered fascinating facts about the cemetery, including the origins of Barks Murals. K Miller from the Buuy Preservation Committee emphasizes that the tours aim to share the history of Buuy and highlight influential residents, particularly artists. This year’s 18th Annual Tour will focus on the city‘s artistic legacy, engaging younger generations with stories of local figures. Reenactors will portray and honor the artists and crafters buried in the cemetery.
Volunteers at the Old Biloxi Cemetery spent Friday morning raking leaves, bagging them, and cleaning headstones in preparation for guided tours.
