Volunteers carry on ‘Happy Christmas Fund’
SUMMARY: Volunteers with the “Happy Christmas Fund” in Columbus, Mississippi spent the morning wrapping gifts for area children, a tradition that began years ago when George “Happy” Irby bought gifts for older people and needy families in the community. Volunteers shopped for gifts and then wrapped them to spread love and cheer during the holiday season. They are dedicated to continuing Happy Irby's legacy of giving back to the community. Despite his passing 14 years ago, volunteers from the Columbus Air Force Base and the local community work together to ensure that families in need have a special Christmas.
