Volleyball playoffs: Powerful Lake Cormorant sweeps Hancock for Class 6A crown

East Central was swept 3-0 by Lafayette in Class 5A play, while defending state champion Lake Cormorant secured back-to-back Class 6A crowns by defeating Hancock in three sets. Lake Cormorant’s victory marked their third state title in the past four seasons. The Lady Gators finished the season at 31-9 overall, while the Lady Hawks ended their year at 34-9. Sophia Gonzalez of Lake Cormorant was named the Most Valuable Player of the match.
