Sanctuary Hospice to distribute grief toolboxes to children

Body found by railroad tracks in Lowndes County, no foul play expected
SUMMARY: WTV 9 News reports a body was discovered this afternoon near railroad tracks northeast of Columbus, around the Smith Road and Pennington Road intersection. Found at approximately 2:30 PM by a railroad worker during a routine inspection, the body was under a collapsed hunting stand. Authorities, including Sheriff Eddie Hawkins, were on scene, and they have confirmed the deceased is a male with no visible signs of foul play or trauma. The coroner has taken the body for further examination, and the investigation is ongoing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
A body has been found in Lowndes County.
