VIDEO: Corinth High School baseball player starts first game since cancer diagnosis

SUMMARY: Corinth senior Eli Johnson, diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, made an emotional return to the baseball field after 66 weeks of chemo and radiation treatments. His first question upon diagnosis was if he could still play baseball. Supported by his family and a global community, Eli inspired others at St. Jude with his resilience and positivity. Now in the maintenance stage of treatment, Eli plans to attend Community College. His story of courage and determination serves as a beacon of hope to all facing cancer, showing that with faith and support, it is possible to overcome challenges and continue pursuing dreams.

Tears and cheers surrounded the Corinth baseball field as one player got his first senior start, but the excitement goes far beyond the achievement on the diamond. Eli Johnson is kicking cancer at St. Jude, when he’s not on the diamond, field, or in a deer stand.
