Vicksburg to celebrate 130 years of Coca-Cola

SUMMARY: Vicksburg, Mississippi is preparing to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the first bottling of Coca-Cola in the world. The Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum, which was initially used by the Biedenharn family as a wholesale candy company and a shoe store, was a significant site for this event. Festivities will include a historic marker proclamation, classic shops and soda shops, a rum and coke tasting event, a classic ‘sip fest’, a classic cars and motorcycles show, a movie screening, and performances of Gold in the Hills at Parkside Playhouse. Several downtown eateries will also be creating a special Coca-Cola menu item throughout the week in honor of the celebration.
