Vicksburg issues ultimatum for nightclub after shooting

SUMMARY: The City of Vicksburg has given The Mulberry Vicksburg and Jacques' nightclub 10 days to create a public safety and security plan or face a court case. The city's legal department and Police Chief Penny Jones will be involved in this process. If taken to court, the city would seek a temporary injunction to prevent the bar from operating until a hearing for a permanent injunction. The decision comes after over 100 shots were fired in the businesses' parking lot on July 5. The Mulberry leases space to Jacques'.

Emergency motion judgment filed against Dau Mabil’s wife

Brandon now home to Entergy’s EV fast chargers

SUMMARY: Entergy Mississippi has installed a $350,000 direct current electric vehicle (EV) fast charging station in downtown Brandon, near Interstate 20. The facility, ready in time for the busy Fourth of July travel period, aims to serve both local residents and travelers on I-20 and I-55. The station features two fast chargers with a capacity of up to 180 kilowatts, compatible with various EV models, allowing a full charge for $20-$30 within 30-45 minutes. This installation, along with one in Ridgeland, enables Entergy to study EV impacts on the power grid and plan future infrastructure. Brandon Mayor Butch Lee welcomes the initiative.
