U.S. confirms North Korea troops are in Russia | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: The U.S. confirms that North Korean troops, estimated at 3,000, are currently training in Russia, likely to support its operations in Ukraine. South Korean intelligence indicates that Russia is preparing to deploy more North Korean soldiers, potentially increasing their numbers to 10,000 by December. These troops are reportedly being trained in basic military operations and advanced tactics, including drone warfare. The collaboration suggests Russia’s manpower shortages. Ukraine’s president warns that North Korea’s involvement in the conflict underscores a lack of international pressure on Moscow and urges other nations to strengthen their support for peace efforts.
The U.S. says North Korean troops are in Russia right now but the Defense Department is unsure of their exact mission. The assumption is that they’re trying to help Russia in its war with Ukraine. FOX’s Rebekah Castor has the latest.
