SUMMARY: Philip Parsons, an army veteran, is running the entire Natchez Trace at a 40 mile per day pace to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention efforts. After surviving an attempted suicide 17 years ago, Parsons turned to running as an outlet and hasn’t stopped since. His goal is to raise money for his fellow veterans and show that our stories don’t have to end in the darkest places. Parsons encourages anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts to reach out to the Crisis Hotline and donations can be made to support his cause. He believes that with hard work, we can write our own endings.
