Vandals cause at least $35,000 in damages to tramway glass panels in four weeks

SUMMARY: Vandals caused $35,000 in to the Tramway in a month, with one incident involving a gun. Security footage captured a vandal breaking two panes of glass, causing $13,000 in damage. Coast Transit Authority (CTA) Executive Director, Kevin Cogan, stated that these acts are unacceptable and a felony. One vandal was caught in the act by a security guard but managed to escape. Another incident involved a 9mm bullet. With three vandalism in four weeks, the replacement cost burdens the CTA’s budget. Gulfport are investigating, and tips can be sent anonymously through Mississippi Coast Stoppers.

Security cam footage caught one of the vandals in the act, and police are hoping the public can find the person responsible.
