Vancleave baseball reflects on state title win
SUMMARY: Over the weekend, two Coast baseball teams, George County and Van Cleave, secured state titles. For the George County Rebels, it was their first state championship since 1997. Similarly, the Van Cleave Bulldogs clinched their first title since 2018, marking their second overall. They achieved this feat in a decisive game three against Leflore on Saturday night, winning 6-1. Justin Edwards, the Bulldogs’ head coach, has been part of both title-winning teams. Reflecting on the victory, Edwards expressed admiration for his senior players, emphasizing their significant impact on him and his family.
