The Tigers, crowned 2024 HBCU national champions after defeating South Carolina State 28-7 in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, will be honored with a parade on January 17, 2025, in downtown Jackson at 6 p.m. Following the parade, an official afterparty and fundraiser will be held at M-Bar Sports Grill. This victory marks Jackson State’s first Celebration Bowl win since its creation in 2015, and the Tigers’ first national title since 1996.

Previously undrafted, Smith was initially signed by the Pistons before being waived and joining the Cruise.
