SUMMARY: Uptown Mall is promoting a “Health is Wealth” initiative in collaboration with Darren Mitchell Jr. from “Be the Best You.” The program encourages community health through organized mall walking, which covers 1.25 miles per two laps. Regular health checks, including blood pressure and glucose testing, will be conducted in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Human Services. Starting Wednesday, fitness classes will be available for all levels to encourage fun and engaging physical activity. Additionally, a new rest area at the mall provides a space for walkers to relax and build support networks. Walking at the mall is available daily starting at 8 a.m.
