United Way of the Pine Belt Regions holds annual report meeting in Laurel

SUMMARY: The United Way of the Pine Belt Region held its annual luncheon to discuss all and fundraisers over the course of 2023. The organization presented to the board of directors, supporters, and donors the accomplishments they’ve achieved. The final tally from fundraisers and how they are helping of the Pine Belt region, as well as what they have planned for the next year, were also discussed. The organization supports 20 other charities in the Pine Belt and received several during the ceremony. Additionally, they are celebrating their 66th year in existence.

The organization presented to the board of directors, supporters and donors, the accomplishments they’ve seen for 2023.

Interview: Autism organization offering sensory-friendly film in Corinth

SUMMARY: Transformers One is set to open this , and local nonprofit Reconnect for Autism is hosting a sensory-friendly screening for and adults with autism. Melissa Esser from Reconnect explains that the nonprofit aims to sensory-friendly experiences, allowing individuals with sensory sensitivities to enjoy community activities comfortably. The special screening will feature adjusted lighting and sound, along with play featuring Legos, allowing attendees to move freely in a judgment- zone. The will take place this Saturday at the Corinth Malco, with doors opening at 9:00 AM and the starting at 9:30 AM—no sign-up necessary.
