Heat alerts stick around

Dau Mabil’s family at odds over independent autopsy arrangements
SUMMARY: In Jackson, Mississippi, the family of Dau Mabil and their attorneys are unable to agree on a suitable doctor for an independent autopsy. Mabil's initial autopsy by the Mississippi State Medical Examiner's Office identified his death as a drowning, but the manner of death remains undetermined. The disagreement involves attorney Lisa Ross and Mabil's brother, Bul Mabil, over the choice of pathologist Dr. Amy Gruszecki. Dau Mabil was found dead in the Pearl River in April 2024 after going missing in March.

Columbus prepares to spend money on paving streets
