SUMMARY: A newly released video shows St. Louis jail Deputy Commissioner Tammy Ross handcuffed at the request of Sheriff Alfred Montgomery, sparking a lawsuit for false imprisonment. The incident, which occurred on February 14, was tied to a separate investigation involving a deputy accused of sexually assaulting a detainee. Ross denied Montgomery access to the detainee twice, leading to his ordering her arrest for alleged contempt. Ross claims this was unlawful and has filed a lawsuit against Montgomery, seeking over $25,000. Montgomery’s attorney asserts there was no false imprisonment, while local officials call for solutions to improve jail conditions.
