Two Hinds CC athletes win national championships
SUMMARY: Hinds Community College athletes performed well at the Indoor Track Nationals, with two Eagles winning national championships. Kareem Nazim won in the men‘s pole vault with a height of 16 and a half inches, and La’Nica Locker won in the women’s 200 meter run with a time of 23.59 seconds. The Eagles finished 14th nationally in the men’s division and 16th in the women’s, with a total of 12 all-Americans. Ayo-Middy Oy-Enji also performed well in both the men’s 60 meter and 200 meter races. Overall, Hinds Community College athletes had a strong showing at the event.

Drive-thru prayer happened Saturday in Tupelo

‘Prancer Path’ gearing up for the holidays in Laurel
SUMMARY: The United Way of the Pine Belt Region is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year, known as Prancer Path, which will feature over 100 live cypress Christmas trees along Library Street and North Magnolia Street.
