Tupelo will soon get two new fire stations

SUMMARY: The Tupelo fire department in Mississippi is undergoing major changes as two of its seven fire stations are being rebuilt. Fire station one, the oldest station in Tupelo, will be moving to a new location. This decision comes as both station one and station five are in need of a remodel after withstanding 60 years of storms and other damages. The city leaders have agreed to invest taxpayer money in upgrading the fire stations to ensure the safety of the firefighters. The goal is to complete the construction of both stations by 2026. Furthermore, the department recently hired its first female firefighter, who started two months ago.

The city of Tupelo along with TFD will be rebuilding stations 1 and 5. They hope to finish the projects by 2026.
