Tupelo receives grant to ease congestion at busy crossroads

SUMMARY: The City of Tupelo, Mississippi, will receive over $7.5 million from a Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Grant provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Single-vehicle accident leaves one person dead near MUW

Propulsion engineer is charged with obstructing probe of deadly 2017 US military plane crash

SUMMARY: James Michael Fisher, a former propulsion engineer at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, has been arrested and charged with making false statements and obstructing justice in an investigation into a 2017 military plane crash in Mississippi. This crash involved a Marine Corps KC-130T transport plane, killing 16 service members. Fisher, now residing in Portugal, allegedly concealed engineering documents and misled investigators about his decisions related to the crash. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison. His arrest was announced by federal prosecutors and multiple military investigative agencies. Fisher made his initial court appearance in Jacksonville, Florida.
