Tullis Manor developers worry pending casino bill will kill project
SUMMARY: Developer Luke Lindsay of Tullus Manor project in East Biloxi, Mississippi, faces setbacks due to pending legislation that would ban casinos at the site. The bill, passed unanimously in the Senate, changes rules on where casinos can be built, impacting ongoing projects. Lindsay worries about the message this sends to future developers and the potential monopoly for existing casinos. He believes the legislation stifles job creation and opportunities. Business advisor Jonathan Schwartz, the majority owner of the project, shares Lindsay’s concerns about the negative effects of the pending legislation on future investments in the area.
The effort to build the new Tullis Gardens Manor in East Biloxi may be dead in the water because of pending legislation.
