Tuesday Noon Tropical Update: One spot in Atlantic could develop
SUMMARY: As of mid-October, six weeks remain in hurricane season, ending November 30. While widespread threats of tropical development are less common, two areas are being monitored. One in the open Atlantic, though currently not very threatening, is expected to strengthen as it approaches Puerto Rico. Additionally, there is a small area of potential development near Nicaragua. Fortunately, the Gulf of Mexico is dry, which should inhibit any formations that may develop elsewhere, despite some moisture and slightly warmer waters in the eastern regions. Overall, the situation appears manageable.
There is one spot to watch for potential tropical development in the central Atlantic Ocean. It is denoted as Invest 94.
According to the National Hurricane Center, it has a “medium chance” of developing. Invest 94 may turn into a tropical depression near the Caribbean Islands later this week. There is a long time to watch how this evolves, and it does not look like it will move near the continental United States, though it will be monitored until it dies.

Thursday 10pm Tropical Update: TS Sara likely to dissipate this weekend
SUMMARY: Out of the 11 named storms this season, 11 have become hurricanes, but Tropical Storm Sara is not expected to strengthen much further. It will mainly bring heavy rain to Central America, particularly Honduras, and then move toward Belize and the Yucatan. Due to its proximity to land, further intensification is unlikely, though a brief window for strengthening exists if it moves away from the coast. The storm is expected to dissipate by Sunday, with no Gulf of Mexico impact, though its remnants may affect forecasts later next week.
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says Tropical Storm Sara likely to dissipate this weekend on Sunday as it starts to move into the Yucatán.
