Trump’s speech to Congress will offer divided nation an accounting of turbulent first weeks
SUMMARY: President Donald Trump plans to address Congress on Tuesday, highlighting his achievements and promoting the “renewal of the American dream.” This comes amid a divided nation, with some Americans anxious about his leadership while others support him. Trump’s proposed policies aim to reshape federal government size and international relations, including freezing military aid to Ukraine and increasing tariffs on imports to address drug trafficking. Democrats are responding by inviting guests negatively affected by Trump’s decisions. Protests are anticipated across the nation, reflecting widespread dissent against his administration. The speech contrasts sharply with his prior State of the Union Address.
