'Trump train' federal lawsuit coming to a close | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: In 2020, a convoy of Trump supporters in pickup trucks and cars surrounded a Biden-Harris campaign bus on I-35, leading former Texas state senator Wendy Davis and a campaign staffer to sue six individuals involved. They claim assault and political intimidation violated state law and the Ku Klux Klan Act, arguing that while free speech is protected, it cannot be used to intimidate others from voting or campaigning. Davis described her anxiety during the incident, as the convoy swerved and slowed the bus. Defense attorneys argue it was a legitimate exercise of free speech, calling the lawsuit an abuse of the judicial system.
A jury will soon decide whether a convoy of Trump supporters intimidated people on a Biden-Harris bus along I-35 in San Marcos back in 2020.

SUMMARY: Nicholas Martinez’s parents express their ongoing grief over their son’s murder, emphasizing their struggle with the lack of closure regarding his killer. In June, an anonymous tip led to the arrest of Antoine Tuan Jr. for allegedly stabbing Martinez in South Austin. Notably, Tuan had been searching online for articles about stabbings shortly after the murder. Despite being arrested, Tuan was released on bond after a judge set it at $150,000, raising concerns about communication failures among law enforcement agencies regarding his extradition to Travis County. Tuan has a history of arrests, complicating the situation further.
A suspect in a 2021 cold case was arrested this week for the stabbing death of a 23-year-old in South Austin. Four days later, he bonded out of jail.
