Tropical Update: Tropical Storm Milton forms in Gulf of Mexico, expected to head to Florida

SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Milton has formed in the of Mexico, previously a tropical depression. It’s moving northeast at 3 mph and is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane by Sunday evening, reaching Category 2 by Monday. Milton is projected to impact Florida, particularly the Tampa area, next , marking the region’s second hurricane in two weeks. Meanwhile, will remain unaffected due to an incoming cold front. Additionally, warm Gulf waters, above 85 degrees, will further fuel Milton’s . Other storms, Hurricane Kirk and Hurricane Leslie, are staying over open . lasts until November 30.

Tropical update: Tropical Depression 14 forms in southwestern Gulf of Mexico
